P.A. Landers fined $10,000 for ethics violation
Hanover -The Hanover-based P.A. Landers company has been fined $10,000 by the state ethics commission after it was determined that a project manger for a portion of the Route 44 project paid a MassHighway inspector so the inspections would “go a little smoother.”

Massachusetts health officials announce first positive West Nile virus mosquito pool
Boston -The Massachusetts Department of Public Health (DPH) announced that West Nile virus (WNV) has been detected in mosquitoes in Massachusetts for the first time this year. The mosquito sample was collected on June 27 in the city of Worcester.
